Size drawing Connection

1. Summary

1.1 DDSF Type Electronic Single-Phase Multi-tariff Kilowatt Hour Meter, is used to measure 50 Hz single-phase AC active power consumed in different periods (Power consumption of total, keen, peak, normal, valley tariff). Its performance is in accordance with all relevant technical requirements in GB/T17215-1998 “1-Grade and 2-Grade Static AC Kilowatt Hour Meter” and GB/T15284-1994 “Multi-tariff (Time division) Kilowatt Hour Meter”, and its data communication protocol is in accordance with all relevant technical requirements in DL/T645-1997 “Multifunctional Kilowatt Hour Meter Communication Protocol”.

1.2 Characteristics: LCD display, long service life, highly accurate, good overloaded performance, low power consumption, compact. A special real-time clock chip is used to ensure reliability of timing data. Infrared communication interface or 485 communication interface (optional) are used to set functions and read meter etc.

2.3 Start: under rated voltage and rated frequency, power factor equal to 1, load current equal to 0.4% Ib (1.0 grade), 0.5% Ib (2.0 grade), Kilowatt Hour Meter works normally.

2.4 No-load running: when voltage is imposed on without any current in current circuit, testing output of meter shall not be more than one pulse in a standard period.

3. Main functions

3.1 Measure power consumed in different periods

This series of Kilowatt Hour Meters have four tariff for four periods in billing, that is: keen, peak, normal, valley. The meters have 8 periods, in 24 hours, up to 8 periods can be programmed as keen, peak, normal and valley tariff; minimum period of each period can be 1 minute. It also has functions such as automatic switching to calendar, timing and leap year conversion.

3.2 Measure power consumed monthly

To manage power consumption, the Kilowatt Hour Meter has functions for total power measurement and divided period power measurement, and can store data in present month and last month.

3.3 Pulse output and communication interface

On Kilowatt Hour Meter installed a red LED to indicate pulse output, an infrared receiver and an infrared emitting tube for infrared communication; communication, programming and current tariff rate are indicated on LCD. Use general infrared handhold terminal (PDA) to communicate with the Kilowatt Hour Meter for automatic meter reading, operating parameters setting and timing. It also can communicate with meter through RS 485 interface. When communication is off, indicator light will be off, and when communication is on, indicator light also will be on.

3.4 Programming

Take button bolt off, and push the red programming button on meter, when communication indicator light is on, loosen, then programming is allowed. After programming is finished, push programming button to make its communication indicator light off, then loosen and install lead seal well.

4. Usage

4.1 Setting parameters, periods and communication address

When a Kilowatt Hour Meter is manufactured, all data units are cleared. A red programming button is set on the meter (in normal condition, it shall in non-programming status.). Setting of bottom power amount, periods and clock are only valid when programming button is on and password is correct. During broadcasting timing, no need to turn on programming. Every day, once timing is enough, and timing range shall be within 5 minutes. Broadcasting address setting needs no password, while programming shall be turned on by infrared communication.

4.2 Read meter

Aim PDA for meter reading to Multi-tariff Kilowatt Hour Meter, and input its number to read.

5. Precautions during usage

  • Input marked voltage on panel into Kilowatt Hour Meter.
  • During installation, wiring terminals shall be screwed tightly, and Kilowatt Hour Meter shall be hung on a firm, flameproof and stable plate. Installed vertically, height shall be 1.8m.
  • After wiring, its cover shall be lead sealed.
  • Kilowatt Hour Meter shall be stored in an environment of -25~70℃, relative humidity<85%, stocked with original packages, number of layers shall not be more than 5. The Kilowatt Hour Meter is not suitable for storage after unpacking.
6. Attachment 1 - Specification on LCD

7. Attachment 2 – Setting different periods on Kilowatt Hour Meter on PDA
